‘Makin Money Moves’ ALBUM: 4.6/5 BARKS.*
When I originally saw P-Moneyy’s Twitter, I sighed, and I went, “Guess I’ll give him a listen.”. I regret nothing.
P-Moneyy’s music, hands you a beer at a loud party, hypes you up and remains at that level the entire time.
I’m not going to mislead you, and feign that P-Moneyy has these incredibly deep, poetic lyrics, that will end all war and solve the woes of the world. Be that as it may, I will tell you that if you are ever at the business end of a bad night, and you just have to throw down; Just smash a Jim Beam bottle, blast his album ‘Makin Moneyy Moves’, and wreck that ‘Bully in the hallway‘.
P-Moneyy is vigorously the best in his category, and brave enough to say just whatever the fuck he wants, while also managing to not be a terrible human.
He talks about ending racism by LITERALLY KILLING THE FUCKING KLAN. How does that NOT hype you the fuck up?! If anything is going on in your life, that you cannot solve, I promise you P Moneyy can.
I want that man to be my friend, I want wake-up calls from P-Moneyy. I want inspirational messages from him. I want more music.
‘Makin Moneyy Moves’ only has seven tracks (seven, amazing tracks.), I found that the best way to listen to him as a new listener is to listen from most current to earliest. Which isn’t always the case for artists. I find that his sound is consistent enough to continue flawlessly in either direction, but also isn’t limited to the point that it feels like you’re listening to the same album over, and over again.
The sound is hard, violent, dark, and bumpy. In that darkness though, it manages to not alienate his audience. You feel his messages, you relate to them in your own way, and you can be present in his music, which could be a downside. In regards to P-Moneyy, it’s perfectly architectural, strategic, and precise.
Don’t get me wrong, there are some inferior sounds, but in the construction of the albums, they work out. He easily redeems himself.
P-Moneyy is not for everyone, but know what? Neither am I.
P-Moneyy is on Twitter. Instagram. YouTube. TikTok.
*Each album or song is rated and reviewed on a sliding scale of 1 to 5. 1 being unsatisfactory and 5 being wonderous. Hey, you…reading this. Are you reading this because you know that I write something new every time? Or are you new and reading this because you’re like, “Who the fuck even is Heavy Brutus? What in the fuck is a BARK.?” Just asking.
